2ND ANNUAL TRANSFORMER SILENT AUCTION & BENEFIT PARTY
OCTOBER 29, 2005
Hosted at Fusebox
TRANSFORMER proudly presents its 2nd Annual Silent Auction Benefit and Reception at Fusebox – 1412 14th Street, NW - Saturday, October 29, 2005 from 7-10pm. This one-night only event features over 45 artworks in a wide array of aesthetics, dimensions, and prices all for auction.
With the overwhelming success of Transformer’s first auction in June 2004, Fusebox Director’s Sarah Finlay and Patrick Murcia open their beautiful gallery to Transformer again this year to host what is becoming a dynamic annual event to raise funds in support of Transformer’s programs and exhibitions.
Coordinated by Transformer’s co-Directors Jayme McLellan and Victoria Reis, Auction co-Chairs and Transformer Board Members James Alefantis and Brigitte Reyes, and supported by an esteemed Host Committee of area gallery directors, collectors and arts enthusiasts - Transformer’s Second Annual Silent Auction Benefit and Reception is a one night only event designed to celebrate and support Transformer and the artists it serves, while raising visibility on the diverse range of contemporary art and artists in Washington, DC.
In addition to viewing and bidding on a unique mix of artworks, auction attendees will enjoy hors d’oeuvres generously provided by Perry’s restaurant and Whole Foods Market – P Street, desserts by Lizzy Evelyn and Cafe Saint Ex, complimentary wine and beer by Buck’s Fishing & Camping, and the dj stylings of Nick Pimentel (DJs Yellow Fever), as well as special guest DJ’s Ian Svenonius (Spilt Milk, Weird War), and Jerry Busher (French Toast).
Attendance is $50 if received by 10.25.05; $75 at the door. Transformer’s website is accepting pay-pal ticket purchases. All ticketed guests will receive a bidding number at the event. Silent auction bidding will take place from 7–9 pm. Auction sales will be announced at 9:30 pm. Cash and check sales only. All works sold at the auction are to be taken that night.
